Englcom Goals Essay (draft)

 
          Have you ever wondered how people mastered their art? How J.K. Rowling mastered writing and became one of the famous writers in this generation? It all started with a dream. A goal that did not only remain as a goal for this people made a step towards achieving it. As students, we also set goals, as simple as getting high grades or becoming part of the Dean's List. To be able to communicate our thoughts through words and speech is a must which therefore compels us to take Englcom. Englcom, an essential subject for Communication majors, is a step towards mastery in writing.      
          As a Communication major it is imperative that we learn how to communicate well. Expressing our thoughts through speech is easy but being able to write it is not as easy as it seems. To write is not enough but we must be able to write well, to become as coherent and articulate as what a writer should be. In doing this, we do our part in achieving the Lasallian dream of producing competent students that are ready to take on the world. Students that become part of the work force of the country will be able to show their full potential thus helping the status of  our beloved  country.
          One may ask, "what should we do to master writing?". Honestly, there is no step by step procedure. The only thing you have to do is practice. Practicing writing as often as possible will lead us to the betterment of the skill. As writers we must have an open mind to be able to accept feedback , be it positive or negative.  
        To accomplish our said goals, we must take action. The saying practice makes perfect is essential in writing. The skill is not acquired through learning itself but rather through application. To excel in the subject, we must not only write well but also, we must submit our works on time. Also, when we are punctual in submission, the proffessor may comment on our work which can lead us to improvement. All these criticism will only make you a better writer so we must be open for them.   
       The subject Englcom is essential to communication majors not only because it paves way for the improvement of writing skills but also, it helps and guides you for the future where communication is always the key in life. J.K. Rowling became a famous writer by not being satisfied with mediocrity for she did not stop until she reached excellence.
